Hilary Hodgson's Farewall Concert with Dalston Male Voice Choir
On 4th December 2011 a packed St Michael's Church listened to a marvellous concert by Dalston Male Voice Choir. This was Hilary Hodgson's last concert as conductor. The choir sang magnificently, performing a varied programme, all chosen by Hilary herself.

Hilary has been Musical Director for 27 years. The choir presented the accompanist, Lorraine Gash, with a bouquet and Hilary was presented with a bouquet and a number of exciting looking presents at the end of the concert. Throughout the concert Michael Williams announced each item with wonderful good humour and several times invited Hilary to add her own comments and observations about the item about to be performed.

The Barber Shop Quartet, Close Shave, were the guest artists.

The concert programme notes had this to say about Hilary ...

"Hilary has devoted much time and effort into selecting items for the Choir's repertoir, visiting proposed concert venues and talent-spotting for guest artists to perform with the choir. She has taken over 1000 rehearsals and conducted more than 250 concerts. Her energy and enthusiasm have been unflagging and the choir owes her an immense debt of gratitude. This, her farewell concert, is our opportunity to say a big "Thank you" to Hilary".
