To enable Galliford Try Construction to carry out works in connection with the construction of the Carlisle Southern Link Road Cumberland Council intends to make Orders the effect of which is to
1. Prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along the following sections of the Caldew Cycleway
(a)An approx. 168 metre section between Grid References: 339001 552104 and 339125 552204; and
(b)An approx. 68 metre section between Grid Reference: 339468 552566 to 339441 552506.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians and cyclists during the restrictions detailed in 1 (a) and 1 (b) above inclusive. However, the contractor on site will provide a suitable alternative route at times when works allow and is deemed safe to do so. This would be signed on the ground.
2. Prohibit pedestrians, horses and cyclists from proceeding along an approx. 609 metre section of Bridleway No. 111002 in the Parish of Cummersdale, between Grid References: 338136 553129 and 338585 553110.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians, horses or cyclists during the restriction detailed in 2 above.

The Order will come into operation on 19 June 2023 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The Order will be required for 6 months.
