The following statement is on the Carlisle City Council website regarding disruption to the garden waste collections.
Possible disruption to services
Update: w/c 20 and w/c 27 September and w/c 4 October and 11 Oct: We are unable to collect garden waste from a number of areas in Carlisle.
If your garden waste wasn't collected on your scheduled date, please take your bin back in and we will accept additional garden waste, in untied bin bags, on your next scheduled collection.
Alternatively, you can take it to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Townfoot Industrial Estate in Brampton or Bousteads Grassing, Rome Street in Carlisle. Please note that both sites operate a permit system for twin axle trailers or vans. Although we will always aim to collect your refuse and recycling on your scheduled collection date, this may be at a different time of the day.
Please put your bin out for collection by 7am on the day of your collection.
We are working hard to minimise any disruption to our services, however some garden waste collections may be affected as refuse and recycling are given priority.
We will continue to update you on any changes to services and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
